Return Rocket Serves!

by Adam
(U.S)

Returning serve is all about reactions. To heighten those reactions, my tennis buddy and I practice our returns by hitting serves at one another from the service line!

The server will hit it as hard as he or she can, and with a lot of wrist snap to make sure it goes in.

Basically, all we do is serve twenty or thirty balls from one side, then twenty or thirty balls from the other side. Our coach told us we have to shorten our back-swing by keeping our arms closer to your body! It also helps to block it back sometimes.

Once you have finished the drill you will find confidence in your returns as everything seems to be easier and simpler. Supposedly this is the same style that Andre Agassi used to practice his return of serves!
