Babolat aero pro drive gt
by Yassine
(Nigeria)
I recently resumed playing tennis full time and have the intention to be at the top of the leader board in our tennis club.
I began with a Babolat reflex 109 and instantly fell in love with it. I decided to upgrade to the aeropro gt lite (because Nadal uses one).... (made the order yesterday for 2 racquets) only to find out that the racquet was recommended for beginners advancing to intermediate levels.
I am already an intermediate and have gotten used to the lightweight racquets, (the heavier ones rip my deltoids off)...should I cancel the order? which other Babolat aero pro drive gt raquets can you recommend.
Answer:
Hey Yassine,
The reason why the Aeropro Gt Lite recommended for junior or intermediate players is because it is a light racquet (280g).
All racquets weighing under 300g can be difficult to use at advanced levels, as the "heavy" or fast balls that your opponent will be hitting, have a tendency to just knock light racquets backwards. In fact, I do not know any pros that use a racquet below 300 or 310g. Soderlings racquets are like a tree trunk as they weigh around 365g!
However, as you mentioned you need a lighter racquet due to your deltoids, I think the GT Lite is a good choice! I personally use the the heavier Aeropro drive version and think its great! So all in all I would stick with your order... Although generally I think it is wise to try out demo racquets before buying as it is personal choice.
I hope I have helped somewhat, Max
